Since the 2003 coup in Bolivia that forced the resignation of President Sánchez de Lozada, a great deal of misinformation about the coup and much else about Bolivia after the coup has appeared and is constantly being reiterated in the media. As a result, the real Bolivia, before and after the coup, has become buried under layers of falsehoods. Analysis of the falsehoods brings to light the suppression of facts and the fabrications underlying these falsehoods.
